Results

The Canada Army Run event was today and I'm pleased with my results. I came in at a race time of 1:59:38 and had an adjusted time of 1:58:03 based on my individual shoe chip. I'm really happy about this time and had a great race day. My three friends are all pretty happy with their times too and we are getting ready to register for next year's race.

The race was really well organized and it actually sold out so they had to stop taking registrations about a week and a half ago. The volunteers were excellent and there was lots of water and gatorade along the route. The race course itself was on paved roads along the rideau canal and was mostly flat with a few very gentle hill sections. Weather - sunny and a little cool. We actually were freezing prior to the race but warmed up quickly once we got going.

I'm still on a runner's high and feel fantastic. I definitely recommend to all my family and friends that you do a race. Start with a 5Km distance if you haven't been running for a while and then you can decide if you want to work up to 10K or longer. Hope you have fun training.
Cheers
BB

There was a very nice article in today's Journal about the inaugural Canada Army Run. It says that there were 7000 participants and of course, many, many more spectators. Wow!
