Water thief

The long hot spell has forced me to become a desperate, rule breaking water thief. Today I am watering my shrubs and trees outside of the city's allowable watering times. Under the bylaws, I am eligible to water from 5 AM to 10 AM on the odd numbered days. Since I leave for work each day by 6:45AM, there is simply not enough time to do a 15 minute slow-trickle deep root water on each shrub. Today is Saturday, an even numbered day, and another hot and sunny day. The shrubs are getting watered. Each one of them. 15 minutes at a time. I'm such a rebel!

Would a water timer on your tap help? It allows the water to come on and shut off at the times you have preset. Of course it wouldn't move the hose for you so you would need an irrigation setup. Whew! Better just to sneak some water for the shrubs as necessary and have shorter showers yourself to compensate!

A water timer would be a great idea but I still need a "hose moving plan" to take care of business while I am at work. Wonder if the boss would become suspicious if I left work for a couple of hours every second morning. hmmmmm Nope - with my luck I'd get busted in the first week.

I do have one sure fire plan to deal with the watering problem but it will take time to implement. My plan is called "ground covered in snow". I expect to put this devious plan into action sometime after Thanksgiving. lol
